Hey guys, I am presently at phoenix, Arizona and will join other hikers and bikers to celebrate the national trails day. Communities around the nation will celebrate National Trails Day 2013 on Saturday, June 1, 2013 bringing together outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds to celebrate the U. S. trail system. Hiking is a very interesting exercise because apart from the normal body exercise you get from hiking, you also experience a renewal of your mind because it exposes you to another perspective of nature and help you to appreciate nature in different forms.
This event is a yearly activity traditionally held on the first Saturday in June every year. National Trails Day was established to recognize the value of recreational trails and the people involved in building and maintaining them. This celebration is an initiative of the American hiking society and has become the world’s largest celebration of trails. Local cities and municipalities mark National Trails Day by holding public events such as walking and biking activities, trail openings, horseback rides, paddling trips, bird-watching, geocaching, gear demonstrations, stewardship projects family entertainment and educational seminars.
Attending this year’s event will be my first time and it promises to be an interesting one. Reaching a mountain peak is like sitting on top the world. I will be reaching the Peak of Camelback Mountain and hope you join me on this trip. Try to go hiking tomorrow and even if you don’t have a hill close to where you live, do something like biking, horse-riding or another activity to join in celebrating the day.
